Back to Square One... and Loving It?
Last night, I dusted off my running shoes (literally) and hit the pavement with Charlie, my dog and running partner! It felt like déjà vu, but less dreamy and more "Did I seriously used to do this voluntarily?" I almost cried, not because of the physical pain, but because running two miles felt like climbing Mount Everest.
Remember when my shins screamed bloody murder? Yeah, they're at it again. Time to bust out those superhero compression socks! It's like giving my legs a tight, comforting hug.
But hey, despite the struggle, I finished those 2 miles. Victory dance, anyone? 🎉
Squats at the Crack of Dawn
Fast forward to this morning: 4:30 am wakeup call for a 5:30 am gym session. Kristen joined me (well, I joined her!) for a Wayne workout, and if Wayne had suggested one more squat, I might have toppled like a Jenga tower. Note to self: squats are great, but moderation, Wayne, moderation!
You know what's awesome, though? That post-workout glow. Sure, it's brutal waking up, but the feeling of accomplishment makes it all worth it.
Meal Prep: Because Adulting
Sunday was all about meal prep, AKA my secret weapon against hangry meltdowns. Chicken stir fry and low-carb chicken enchiladas are now starring in my own culinary show. Having ready-to-go meals is my lifesaver when chaos ensues, and I have no idea when my next bite of food will be.
